In need of new furniture? Try a furniture warehouse

Let’s face it, if you’re in the market for new furniture there are many ways you could go about finding what you like. You could jump into your car and take yourself down to a showroom in your local mall, or you could try sniffing out a deal in your local newspaper. And then, of course, you’ve got furniture warehouses – filled with great deals, but without the frill and fuss. And the bonus is that many of them are online, meaning you wouldn’t even need to leave home to find what you were looking for!

The main difference between your traditional showroom and furniture warehouses is set up and cost. Showrooms will be set up to mimic one’s home environment, with wall hangings, beautiful carpets and perfect lighting – the special touches to help persuade you to buy a particular piece of home furnishing. Although this can be helpful, the costs involved will probably be carried through into the prices of the items on the floor. You will not find a similar setup and resulting cost carry-over in a furniture warehouse.

Furniture warehouses, in order to keep prices to a minimum, do not try for anything flashy or trendy in terms of setup. What you see is what you get, which helps furniture warehouse merchants keep costs down. You might not be seeing the furniture in a beautiful setting with amazing ambience but, if you use your imagination, you could quite conceivably be able to imagine what a piece would look like in your home. This will save you money and, if you do research through a furniture warehouse’s website before visiting them in person, you could save yourself time too. You might even be able to buy the furniture online, thus saving yourself a trip to their premises altogether.

Some furniture warehouses will specialise in selling “rejects” – pieces that have small, superficial flaws that don’t detract from their usefulness or aesthetic appeal. You may be quite happy buying one of these pieces purely because of the benefit in savings. One word of caution though – make sure that you are not buying significantly lower-quality furniture just to save a bit of cash. This will turn around and bite you eventually. If you are getting a deal that seems too good to be true, find out why and then decide whether you’re still willing to go through with it.
In short, furniture warehouse-type stores can be a blessing if you need new furniture but cannot afford to buy from upmarket stores. Most consumers will know what they are looking for (and how much they’d like to spend) before they even step foot out of their homes. Good quality furniture is an asset but doesn’t have to break the bank. Be wise – next time you’re in the market for a bureau, bookcase or a sofa, try a furniture warehouse

How to Buy a Mattress and Save

carl drotsky - Wednesday, February 09, 2011

The amount of time that you spend in your bed at night, equates to about one third of your entire life time. So when buying a new bed, it is not a purchase to be taken lightly. In a bed, you want comfort and a good fit to your body. Back problems and other potential health concerns should be taken into account. One might have to spend a bit more in order to combat problems in the future. Looking more carefully into a quality mattress purchase will help you to save money. A good mattress can be expensive, but a little investigation into which mattress is the right one, will save you money. Even if it takes some time.

The best way to choose the mattress you need is to try it out. Yes, this means lie down on it, at least for a little while. Even an expensive mattress might not be the right choice for you. Although you won’t be able to spend a night sleeping on the mattress to test it, you can certainly tell a lot more than you think about a mattress by lying on it. The sales person will know this and they would encourage you to test a mattress out to see how it feels. They would also be able to point out the ones you should try out first if you have specific medical problems.
One should also not stick to just one store. Shop around at a few mattress stores before you buy. Each store may have different brands which you could have a look at and test out. Their prices may also differ, so ensure that you are getting the best deal. They may even be able to match or better a price from another store. They do want your business, so be open to negotiate as they are keen to make a sale. Take a note book with you and keep a note of the type and price of each mattress you like. You may not buy your mattress in one day, but it will save you money in the end.
One can even look to find a mattress at a good discount on some internet site. One sometimes thinks that the shipping costs involved would negate any saving you might gain, but this is not always the case. Some companies absorb the shipping costs in order to make their product more accessible to you. They can possibly ship the mattress to a local shop so that you can pick it up at your own cost. These deals may not be easy to find, but they do come around. Looking for new beds can be done on line from home as well as in your local stores. This way you can be sure of the best deal.
There are cases where you can get the kind of deal where you do get to take the mattress home with you and test it for a few nights. These companies offer you a no obligation trial period on their mattress. They believe in their product so much that they offer this opportunity to prove it to the customer. A downfall to some consumers is that a credit check is required to take part in this offer. However, if you can organize this, and you really want to buy the best mattress for years of good sleep, this is a good opportunity to make sure that you love your bed before you spend large sums of money on it.

Why Custom Made Furniture

Why Spend More for Custom Made Furniture

With so much emphasis on budgets, line-items and deficits, it’s no wonder that the average consumer is holding onto their own resources a little tighter. Frankly, who knows what tomorrow will bring? Just because you are economizing, however, doesn’t mean that you can’t afford to be a bit discerning in your spending habits. There is still plenty of reasons to choose custom made furniture over the standard department store fare. In fact, the economy might offer the perfect reason to make this selection. Custom made holds its value better than the average furniture, making it not only a beautiful, but smart, investment.

Custom Made Furniture is the Perfect Wedding Gift

When you are invited to a wedding, it can be tiresome to deal with the standard gift choices and the seemingly endless registries. The good news is that you can be as creative as you want. While not every acquaintance demands a highbrow gift, those that are extremely close to you should get extra consideration. This is the perfect time to turn to custom made furniture. Feel free to browse the registry to get a feel for the couple’s taste. However, put your own personal touch on the piece as well. Unlike mundane gifts, this is something that will become an heirloom, cherished by your loved ones as they build their long and happy life together.

Celebrate Becoming a Grandparent with Custom Made Furniture

After spending years struggling to raise your children, you finally get the satisfaction of seeing them settle into productive adult lives. Then, the fun really begins, as grandchildren enter the arena. After building a strong financial foundation, you likely have more means than the children’s parents do at this point, so don’t be afraid to offer support in a tangible way. Think of it as celebrating your new role. One of the nicest and most useful gifts that you can give you a new mom is custom made furniture- a crib, changing table or wardrobe that is specially made with mom’s taste and baby’s needs in mind.

Furniture Wholesalers

Furniture Wholesalers

South African furniture wholesalers play an extremely important role in getting the furniture from the manufacturer to the consumer. Without wholesalers there would be less goods produced and fewer choices in specific items for the consumer to buy. Wholesaler’s allow manufacturers to use the space in their factory for production, and allow retailers to buy smaller amounts of furniture than would otherwise be necessary and sometimes passing on savings to the consumer as well.

What is a furniture wholesaler?

A furniture wholesaler sometimes called a distributor is the middle man between the manufacture and the retailer. Manufacturer’s have limited space which is needed to produce their product. Once they finish a product they have limited space in which to store it. Keeping the furniture they made at the factory would mean that they would have to either build additional storage facilities or would have to take up room they need for production to store the finished product. This would result in less furniture being manufactured and could result in workers only working infrequently while the manufacturer was waiting for furniture retailers to purchase their goods.
Retailers too only have so much space to showcase the furniture they sell. Without the wholesaler the retailer would have to sell most of their stock in their showroom and then wait for the manufacturer to produce more and then restock.
The furniture retailer however, has large store house where they can store the furniture that is manufactured and then delivery those goods each retailer needs to their specific store. This allows the retailer to reorder one or two pieces of a specific piece of furniture that is high demand without having to wait for the manufacturer to make more.
Furniture wholesalers not only sell their furniture to retail stores but also to institutions and businesses. For example, a wholesaler may sell the furniture directly from their warehouse to motels looking for large quantities of beds, nightstands, dressers, small tables, and chairs. This allows the motel to purchase the furniture they need at a much lower price than if they had to buy from a retailer.

How purchasing from a wholesaler can save you money

In some cases the furniture retailer, also has their own retail stores in which they sell quality furniture directly to consumers at discount prices which can result in huge savings for the consumer. These wholesalers offer the same quality furniture that you would purchase in retail stores at a lower price than most retail stores can sell their furniture for. This allows the wholesaler one more way to sell the furniture they purchase from the manufacturer and can result in large savings for the consumer.
Whether you are a large or small retail store buying from a furniture wholesaler that handles quality furniture at a reasonable price will help you to not only save you money but increase your businesses as your customers will be well satisfied with the products you sell. As a consumer buying from a wholesaler directly can result in huge savings while meeting your decorating needs. South African furniture wholesalers can meet the needs of the manufacturer, the retailer, and the individual consumer and they help keep the economy of South Africa growing.

Furniture Manufacturers

carl drotsky - Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Furniture is a necessary part of our lives, and South African furniture manufacturers make furniture in a variety of sizes, shapes, and styles using a variety of materials to make the furniture you need as affordable as possible in order to supply today's consumers with all their furniture needs at a price they can afford.

Qualities of Furniture

Different companies make different qualities of furniture. Some furniture manufacturers make what is known as lower end products. These products are made from materials such as pressed board, and inexpensive woods and cloth. They use these materials in order to bring consumers who are on an extremely strict budget and have a limited means of income, a product that is useful and affordable.
Other manufacturer's offer what is known as mid range stock. These pieces may use both wood and cloth materials that are more durable than the lower range products or may use a combination of extremely high quality materials and cheaper materials in order to create pieces that fit the budgets of the vast majority of consumer's.
Other furniture manufacturer's make only products made from the finest or most rare materials. Often using exotic woods and expensive cloths in the making of their furniture. These products are made for the consumer's who want the very best and are willing to pay for it.
While some furniture manufacturer's only make one range of products others make products that are designed for consumer's of all walks of life. There are also manufacturers that make custom made furniture in various price ranges to meet individual customers specific wants, needs, and price range.

Not Just Quality Goods

Although South African furniture manufacturers main goal is too make as high a quality of furnishings as possible so at reasonable prices so that the consumer can have the good's they need when they need them. Their role in the African economy is more far reaching than just the products they manufacture. These manufacturers help to form the backbone of the areas economy in which they operate. These companies help to create a number of jobs for their communities.
Many manufacturers not only employee local worker's but buy much of their materials from the locale or region in which they operate. Which helps to strengthen the economy in the region where they do business. Their employees then spend the money they own in their own communities for products they need further strengthen the economy and creating still more jobs.
These manufacturers also keep abreast of new technology and ideas that will help them to make their products better and less expensive for you the consumer. This means that there is always an influx of quality goods made from new and more attractive materials.

The next time you are in the market for a new sofa or table take a little extra time to exam the piece you are buying and note the quality and skill that these furniture manufacturers used to create this wonderful product for you and how not only that individual piece of furniture but the company itself is helping to create a better more comfortable life for you and for your community.
